Tibi Spring 2013
February 26, 2013 9:26 amIn recent collections, Tibi’s Amy Smilovic has been designing 90s-inspired sporty separates and relaxed fits, skillfully balancing between street-chic and contemporary polish.
Spring 13 remains true to this direction, focusing on texture, structure, and color. The collection unites feminine details with borrowed-from-the-boys dressing such as corsetry, waist definition, and pleating mixed with vintage denim jackets, slouchy Bermuda shorts, color-blocked pants and buttoned collars. A crisp white and black palette with delicate pops of yellow, pink, and sand allow the laser cut-outs, leathers, and lacquered fabrics to take center stage.
Smilovic, known for her unique prints, creates a strong and edited selection each season. In Spring 13, geometric isosceles, in both saturated and watermarked variations, appear on structured dresses, a slim pencil skirt, and a relaxed, boxy top. Shoes have become a strong addition to each season’s offering, complementing the Tibi aesthetic with styles that are minimal and chic. Simple ankle-strap sandals and heels with intricate laser-cut designs accented with the use of clear PVC are offered in neutral tones of black, white and tan.
