Meredith Dolhare for Runner’s World

Last year I was sent on a lot of interesting assignments for Runner’s World. I went to Mexico in February to photograph Nick Symmond’s where he trains at high altitude, I photographed a man in Boston who was hit with shrapnel as he crossed the finish line during the marathon, I photographed an incredible woman whose body was reconstructed after she was run over by a semi truck, and then there was Meredith Dolhare. She seems to be a sort of superwoman as far as I can tell. Her road has been bumpy but she has come a long way. Last year she finished 3rd in the 135-mile Badwater Ultramarathon, she coaches cross country at her son’s high school, and she even started a running club for homeless people in Charlotte, North Carolina where she lives. Below are some of the pictures from the day I spent with her in Charlotte. To read more about Meredith click here.

Thanks to Photo Editor Michele Ervin for a great year of collaboration.
